Multi Channel Marketer EPA

Interactive Guide: Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer EPA

Your Guide to the Multi-Channel Marketer EPA

This guide deconstructs the End-Point Assessment (EPA), moving beyond “practice exams” to provide a strategic roadmap for showcasing your real-world competence and achieving success.

A Professional Showcase

The EPA isn’t a memory test. It’s a structured opportunity to demonstrate the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) you’ve applied in your job role through a real business project and a professional interview.

The Assessment Landscape

Your assessment is based on the national standard (ST1031) from IfATE. This means the core requirements are the same regardless of your EPAO (like BCS), so guidance from any reputable source is valuable.

The Gateway

The “Gateway” is the formal transition from your 18-month learning phase to the EPA period. Your employer and training provider must agree you’re ready before you can start your work-based project and final assessments.

Understanding the Assessment Methods

The EPA consists of two comprehensive assessment methods designed to give you a holistic opportunity to prove your competence. Strong performance in both is required to achieve a Merit or Distinction.

1. Project with Presentation & Q&A

This method assesses your ability to manage a significant marketing project from start to finish. It demonstrates strategic thinking, planning, execution, and evaluation skills.

Work-Based Project: A real project with tangible business benefits, undertaken after the Gateway.
Project Report: A 2,500-word report detailing the project’s journey, completed within 12 weeks.
Presentation & Q&A: A 20-minute presentation followed by a 25-minute Q&A with an assessor.

2. Interview with Portfolio

This method assesses the breadth of your competence across your job role, using your collected work as a foundation for a professional discussion.

Portfolio of Evidence: A curated collection of ~12 pieces of your best work, compiled during your apprenticeship.
Interview: A 60-minute professional discussion with an assessor, where you use your portfolio to evidence your answers.
